So many things to do...

Today, I am tackling the whole "configuring my blog" thing. I added Followers (thank you!) and added a link to my Etsy shop. Now, if I could just find the time to make more jewelry to load into said Etsy shop. Sigh...

I'm the Taggee...

OK, I've been tagged through my Etsy marketing group, eSMArts Guild... My tagger is Michele Cook of Michele Cook Designs. You can check out her cool jewelry at http://micheleslife-michele.blogspot.com/.

This apparently is a test to see if I can figure out the whole how-to-link-to-people thing, so if I don't do it right, at least my heart was in the right place!

Anyhow - being tagged is like when we played tag as kids - I am "it" and I have to follow the Tagging Game Rules by:
1) Link to the person who tagged you
2) Post the rules on your blog (this is what you are now reading)
3) Write 6 random things about yourself (see below)
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5) Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

6 Random things about me...
1) I am a dental hygienist (this means that all who read this must FLOSS daily, lol)
2)I have a son (25 years old) and a daughter (23 years old)
3) I have two cats, Boo (a black cat- skittish as heck and appropriately named) and Cleo (a 20 pound marshmallow with fur)
4) I loovvveeee chocolate (I know, I'm the only one in the world who does...)
5) I was never really a "jewelry person" and now I am addicted to making it.
6)I just signed up on Twitter and am lost trying to figure out how to follow people and get them to follow me, so just send me your info so we can link up!

OK, now to find the next victims and tag them! Hmmm, let's see... I pick:
Tracy from Orange Starfish Designs at http://orangestarfish.blogspot.com/
Barbara at http://magpiedreamersblog.blogspot.com/
Willow at http://simply-willow.blogspot.com/
Stacie at http://creativejunque.blogspot.com/
Anna Lee at http://gahooletreedesigns.blogspot.com
I know - there are only 5 listed here, but seriously - I can't find ANYONE in the Guild who hasn't been taged once already and some have been tagged more than once...So, I'm settling for 5 since I've been working on this (instead of making jewelry like I should be!)for the last 3 hours!!!

Ann Lee

I've been tagged...?!?!?!

Oh Oh! I just found out that I've been tagged by my marketing group... now I've got to read through the last 10,000 emails and find out what that means, LOL!

"Elegant Bondage"

Here's my newest creation. I did the kiln-fused glass and also the wire wrapping...

It seems that I'm so busy trying to figure out all this marketing stuff that I don't seem to take time to create much of anything though!! :0

Beaded Bangle Bracelet

I love how this bracelet came out! The neatest thing about it is that I have veryyyy skinny wrists (I wish the rest of me was so thin - like my behind, lol), so I can adjust it to fit my wrist. I usually never wear bracelets because they are always super-huge and fall off, but this one is great!

Oh Ohhhhhh!

I am learning wire wrapping, so by default, I am also learning about wire and some of its properties and what you can and can not do with it. Example: I wrapped this stone cabachon with silver plated wire and decided to polish it after I was done. So, I used a sunshine cloth and went to work, and to my horror, the plating started to rub off! You can see where a little of it has buffed off on the top left corner! So, now I am afraid to polish anything... I see why everyone uses sterling silver for the items they sell!

more wirework!

I also am doing some wire crocheting with 26-gauge wire. I think these necklaces are very cool and funky and they are relatively easy to do so I get the gratification of quick results...

wirework

Ok, so I'm trying my hand at working with wire... It's really fun to bend and shape and see where the wire takes me! I don't have a design in mind when I start, so it's neat to see how everything ends up. These are my first two pieces...
(Oh, by the way - I made the dichroic glass pendant myself :) !)

The birth!

Canyon Fire Creations was "born" on July 4, 2008! It was certainly an Independence Day for me, branching out of my comfort zone as I am. I have been crafting for years, but I usually just give my creations away to family and friends or hide them in a closet somewhere. But now, thanks to inspiration from the wonderful people in my life, I'm going to try selling some of my work. So this blog will follow the story of the journey...
